GEMSTONE Black Onyx in Quartz Shard Ring: Size 7.5

Approximate size: 7.5

This bold, shard-like stone has translucent areas of clear-white, icy quartz, with a river of opaque black. Thick, triple-link band.

Onyx is a variety of chalcedony that usually has patterns of parallel bands in the stone. Artificial treatments have been used since ancient times to produce the solid black color in black onyx.

Quartz is the second most abundant mineral on Earth and it known for its strength as a mineral. The Ancient Greeks referred to quartz as  krustallos, derived from the word  kruos, meaning "icy cold," because some believed it to be a form of supercooled ice.

*Please note: the color of the stone may be slightly different in person due to photography/computer monitor/device screen color discrepancies.
