Hematite is a common iron oxide compound widely found in rocks and soils. Is it commonly a black or steel/silver grey, but can also be brown or red. Its name comes from the Greek word for blood due to the red varieties.
Obsidian is a natural volcanic glass that is produced when lava cools very quickly. Red snowflake obsidian is found in Mexico. The red areas are clusters of crystals that cooled within the obsidian.
*Please note: the color of the stone may be slightly different in person due to photography/computer monitor/device screen color discrepancies.
